Lore studied Sociology, Educational Science (B.A.), and Political Science (M.A.) in Halle (Saale) and Kassel. She subsequently worked as a freelance author and editor, mainly in the field of political and participatory education. She had been a no borders activist for around 10 years before becoming interested in struggles for land and rural livelihoods in Greece, where she has lived and experienced first-hand the already pressing effects of climate change.

In her current work, Lore is exploring the interface between architecture and the social sciences by looking at “architectures of staying” in Evia, Greece, in the aftermath of both fires and floods that struck the area. In her work, she is keen to understand the local actors’ perspectives and actions as well as the role of affects. Moreover, she believes that in addition to official mitigation strategies, there is a great deal of knowledge to gain by learning from local villagers and their interactions with nature and its forces. As a city child with family roots in farming, Lore is excited to explore the peculiarities and potentials of rural spaces beyond their common neglect in urbanization discourses.
