Research interest

My research interest in the DFG Research Training Group “Organising Architectures” focuses on the complex framework conditions of architectural and urban design. The discussion of projects often obscures the processes behind their realization and their implications for the future. This applies to difficult colonial architecture just as it does to globally-styled showcase architecture in international competitions. The question of how futuristic concepts emerge can probably only be answered by critically examining the influence of institutions, networks and public discourse on the development of the built environment. I am looking forward to interdisciplinary collaboration with students and colleagues and to discovering together the previously hidden backgrounds of architectural and urban projects.
