Philip Ursprung has been Professor of Art and Architectural History at ETH Zurich since 2011, where he headed the Department of Architecture from 2017 to 2019 and has been head of the gta Institute since 2024. He has taught and conducted research in Geneva, Zurich, Berlin, New York, Barcelona and Singapore, among other places, and has held positions at institutions such as ETH Zurich, Columbia University and Cornell University. His awards include the Golden Owl of the ETH students (2013), the Prix Meret Oppenheim of the Federal Office of Culture (2017) and the representation of Switzerland at the 18th Architecture Biennale in Venice together with Karin Sander (2023).
