Silke Steets is Professor of sociology with a focus on sociological theory at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). Her research interests include urban, spatial, architectural and religious sociology as well as the history of sociology, sociological theory and qualitative research methods. She held the Chair of Urban and Spatial Sociology at TU Darmstadt before becoming a Heisenberg Fellow at the Institute for Cultural Studies at Leipzig University from 2017 to 2019 and a visiting scholar at the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences at UT Dallas (USA). In 2019, she was appointed to the Chair of Sociological Theory at FAU, which she still holds today.
