Dr. Mechtild Widrich is Professor and Department Chair, Department of Art History, Theory and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is author of two monographs, Performative Monuments. The Rematerialisation of Public Art (Manchester University Press, 2014), and Monumental Cares. Sites of History and Contemporary Art (Manchester University Press, 2023, a finalist for the ASAP Book Prize), as well as numerous articles in journals and exhibition catalogues.
