This article examines Lado Gudiashvili Square in Tbilisi, Georgia, as a form of interface heritage consisting of the historic buildings surrounding the square and the urban space they constitute. Through ethnographic research and textual analysis, it explores both the physical space of the square and the rhythms of everyday life. From an anthropological perspective, the study considers the shift from tangible to intangible heritage and examines changes in participating actors and forms of heritage representation. Finally, drawing on the Kantian concepts of the “categorical imperative” and “moral imperative,” it discusses intervention strategies for the conservation and renewal of historic urban squares.
