The Research Training Group “Organizing Architectures” at Goethe University Frankfurt is seeking a Student Assistant (40 hours per month) starting 1 October 2026, initially for a period of 12 months.
The DFG-funded Research Training Group “Organizing Architectures” is a collaborative research program dedicated to supporting innovative doctoral projects by excellent early-career researchers. Its strongly interdisciplinary and international study and research program fosters multi-perspective approaches to the relationship between architectural production and societal processes.
The Research Training Group brings together the disciplines of sociology, art and architectural history, media studies, architecture, history, human geography, political science, and legal history.
“Organizing Architectures” is a joint project of Goethe University Frankfurt, TU Darmstadt, the University of Kassel, and the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt.
Responsibilities
As a Student Assistant, your tasks will include:
- Preparing and supporting internal events (including technical assistance, research and scanning tasks, and occasionally arranging light catering)
- Managing the Research Training Group’s website, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts, including German–English translations, website updates, writing social media posts, and related communication tasks
- Promoting public events through university communication channels, mailing lists, and other distribution platforms
- Assisting with the preparation and organization of public events (lectures, panel discussions, international conferences, and exhibition projects), including communication with cooperation partners and invited guests as well as technical support
- Supporting publications through research and copy-editing/proofreading
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- The ability to work independently and reliably, with flexibility regarding working hours
- Excellent written communication skills in both German and English
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- An interest in the Research Training Group’s theme and in interdisciplinary research
- Experience in public relations is desirable
Working hours will be arranged in consultation with the Research Training Group’s Academic and Administrative Coordinator, Friederike Weidner.
